Kenya Unveils National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030

 

On March 27, 2025, the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy officially launched the Kenya Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030, marking a significant step in the country’s journey toward AI-driven innovation. The strategy outlines key focus areas to position Kenya as a regional AI leader, supporting economic growth, public service efficiency, and digital transformation.

• AI Digital Infrastructure – Expanding 5G networks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

• Talent Development – Integrating AI education into schools and tertiary institutions.

• Ethics, Equity & Inclusion – Promoting fairness, transparency, and public AI literacy.

The strategy also highlights priority AI applications in healthcare, education, agriculture, security, MSMEs, and creative industries, aligning with Vision 2030 and the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda.
